On my first ever southern USA road trip, I was thrilled to visit Nashville for the first time. Music City is appropriately named for its deep rooted musical history that still plays an important role in modern day culture.

Bars line the main strip on Broadway, where live bands can be found in every bar, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I spent my first day exploring the sites of the city and got to visit the Johnny Cash museum and the Goo Goo Shop. If you don’t know what a Goo Goo Cluster is (don’t worry neither did I) but you MUST visit when you come to Nashville.

They’re a little slice of Southern heaven with milk chocolate, caramel, peanuts and marshmallow nougat!

While I’m not a huge denim, flannel and cowboy boots kinda gal, I was really excited to plan some fun travel outfits for this trip. Mixing up my love for boho style with a little Southern inspiration, I paired some colorfully print shorts with a comfy belled-sleeve top for a whimsical Western look.

It’s still Winter in Nashville in February, so I also brought along a jacket for the late afternoon. You can easily layer and swap pieces to make it the perfect travel outfit for almost any season.
