The HomeViews community is growing faster than ever before, with new developments and reviews being added everyday. We accept reviews and ratings from individuals who can offer different perspectives, and provide a range of insights to support those looking to buy or rent their next home. Here’s the breakdown of who’s-who…
Residents
Unsurprisingly, many of the reviews on HomeViews are from residents. The most trustworthy and valuable insights come from those who actually live in the development in question. In addition to a 200-word minimum review and a set of category scores, we ask residents to tell us things like ‘one thing you wish you’d known before you moved in’. We also seek to verify every single one, and ask for certain details before a review is submitted so our tech partner can confirm it’s a bona-fide resident writing the review. It means you can rest assured that what you’re reading on the site is trustworthy!
Here’s an example…
“Very nice team managing the place, a great package collection service, nice tidy apartments and modern. Its a very good idea that there is no agency involved in the whole process, so there are no fees to ot, just 1 month deposit and the monthly rent with a basic internet included. Overall it was a great choice, behere is definitely one of the great places in London.” – Andrei P, verified resident at be:here Hayes
Property Pro contributors
We work with a number of industry contributors who review developments on the HomeViews site. These range from buying agents to property journalists, and we think it provides an additional knowledge source from those who know how the property business works, and can give an honest and alternative viewpoint. Each Property Pro must declare if they have any commercial interest in the development they are writing about.
Here’s an excerpt about Battersea Exchange from one of our Property Pros, Evangelina Hogan – Sales Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield
“If you are looking to invest in a transforming and blossoming area, Battersea Exchange is the right place for you. The area’s 42-acre 15 billion-pound project is said to be the most ‘ambitious regeneration project yet’. In this community-led, family-friendly and welcoming environment, Battersea Exchange provides a home that reaps the benefits of regeneration without the downside of living amongst building work for the next 15 years! With the imminent Northern line extension opening in 2020 also, the potential is HUGE!”
Viewers
We accept content from those who may not live in a development currently, but who have viewed it previously. That viewing has to have taken place in the last calendar year or we can’t accept it. It’s important to note that viewer ratings do not contribute to a development’s overall rating, but we still believe these insights are useful to showcase. After all, first impressions count! It can also be really helpful to understand why a prospective resident opted out of that development and found a home elsewhere.
Take a look at this example of One Tower Bridge to see what we mean… “We loved the architecture and design of the location and the apartment, to step onto the street or sit on your balcony and be able to see the iconic bridge is just so special. There are lots of new restaurants opening but we went for lunch at St Katherines Dock just over the bridge for all the additional bars and restaurants on offer. The flat was fairly set back down Duchess Walk which means the flat doesn’t get too much natural light.” – Marsha, viewer
HomeViews Researchers
Occasionally, you might spot a review that’s clearly labelled as belonging to a HomeViews representative. We task some members of our content team with visiting and researching developments, and then giving us a write-up of their takeaways. Here’s an example snippet…
“The masterminds behind this project are Ballymore, supported by HAL Architects, Sir Terry Farrell CBE (the man behind the Home Office HQ and MI6 building, among others), Spanish interior designer Luis Bustamante, London based interiors firm Benningen Lloyd, and finally Huw Morgan in charge of landscaping. Embassy Gardens takes an enviable spot across the Thames from Chelsea and Kensington, with Westminster, the Southbank Centre and London Bridge just a short walk away.” – HomeViews Researcher on Embassy Gardens
